Welcome to the Compass Fellowship at Stanford!
The Fellowship started off at Stanford University in the Fall of 2011 led by mentors Krystal Le, Rahul Gupta, Charles Naut, Mia Davis and Mark Sherwood. The team was proud to form a strong partnership with the Haas Center for Public Service at the beginning of year and has thoroughly enjoyed working with the Center. The Haas Center serves as the main sponsor of the Stanford program. Highlights from the first semester included a number of design thinking modules, many cafe hangouts with mentor groups and a number of team dinners with the entire group. The Stanford Fellows have had the chance to work closely with a number of faculty members to brainstorm creative ideas for their social ventures.
The San Francisco Region of the Compass Fellowship
Our Stanford partners
Although a small channel of water apart, nothing they are strongly connected – UC Berkeley and Stanford come together to form the SF Region of the Compass Fellowship. The two campuses meet up for a regional activity a few times throughout the year including a regional retreat, and entrepreneurial bootcamp to name a few. The SF region started off with a bang in Fall 2011 with a city-wide scavenger hunt for the Fellows. The SF region is overseen by Compass President and Co-founder, Arthur Woods, following his move to the Bay Area at the beginning of 2011.
What is the Compass Fellowship?

The Compass Fellowship is a unique community of 15 freshmen Fellows and 5 upperclassmen Mentors who want to become social entrepreneurs! Each week the Fellowship meets with a CEO, author, or social activist to discuss weekly themes that range from setting goals to incorporating a business.
Through these weekly modules and even more personalized meetings with Mentors, Fellows leverage their passions by developing a social business that they ultimately launch! Additionally Fellows are exposed to the four main Compass Fellowship events: a community-building Retreat, speed-networking Bootcamp, Shift Series Conference in Washington, DC, and a Graduation Reception in which Fellows present their ventures!
